Elizabeth Fuentes practices at both offices of New York Behavioral Health in both the New York City and Rockville Centre. Elizabeth completed her master’s degree in School Psychology at Fordham University Lincoln Center. Elizabeth received a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and English at Boston College. Elizabeth is currently studying to receive her Ph.D. in School Psychology at Fordham University, and is completing her clinical internship at New York Behavioral Health.
Elizabeth is a certified school psychologist and currently works with adolescents and young adults providing therapeutic counseling that addresses specific educational and behavioral goals, as well as collaborating with teachers, families and outside agencies to coordinate mental health care for her students. Elizabeth also serves as a Chairperson for the Committee on Special Education, which determines eligibility for students with disabilities to receive special education, and develops individualized education plans for students with disabilities. Elizabeth utilizes her kind and empathic nature, along with evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to assist clients in reaching their goals. Elizabeth appraoches therapy with the belief that individuals have the ability to develop self-awareness and to discover their capacity to live their most joyful and meaningful life.
