Brittany Orlando is a psychotherapist at New York Behavioral Health practicing in both the New York City and Rockville Centre locations. Brittany completed her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Baruch College in New York City. Brittany received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Labor Studies and a master’s degree in Labor and Employment Relations from Rutgers University. Brittany has 7 years’ experience working in Human Resources where she gained valuable experience in employee relations and conflict resolution. Her passion for working with individuals in their professional careers inspired her to pursue a career in mental health counseling so she can help individuals succeed in other aspects of their lives.

Brittany completed her practicum at New York Behavioral Health where she co-facilitated social skills groups for children and adolescents. Additionally, Brittany completed a clinical internship at Mount Sinai West’s Addiction Institute where she worked with adults of diverse backgrounds with various substance use disorders and other mental health disorders including depression, anxiety and personality disorders.

Brittany believes in building a strong therapeutic alliance with clients as they work towards achieving their life goals. She is empathic and kind in her approach and tailors her treatment methods to each client’s unique and specific needs.  Brittany uses a combination of pragmatic and evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) while helping clients confront and deal with challenges in their lives.

Brittany’s aspiration is to help clients develop the self-awareness, self-confidence and skills necessary to overcome perceived obstacles and live their most fulfilling life.
